Has anyone used a great predictive analytics tool on their legal inventory? What other effective sources do you use to locate assets?

In the state of NC is against Bar Association to commission out work for example, skip tracing, debt collections or judgment recovery?

I am surprised that is is against the Bar Association to outsource work. Lawyers do not have the time to skiptrace, or get on the phones to collect money or judgements. I would be curious to know what it is you are supposed to do.

Steve Taylor poses an interesting question in the "Skip Trace Professionals" group. He asks, what are firms using to skip trace and how are they verifying the information? I'd love to know your thoughts too.

Perhaps someone from this group can visit John McNamara's forum on local -- and potentially deceptive -- DIDs and weigh in on whether the practice is courting legal action. This seems to me like an important issue that deserves our attention. The forum can be found here.

I'm sitting in NARCA's fall conference as I type right now, listening to election campaign speeches for the association. The common theme? Lawyers stressing the importance of changing the collection industry's reputation more than ever. The economic crisis puts collections into focus after all, so ethical practices are the only way to go. More to come soon.
