Employment Screening-Valuable information

Pre-employment screening is not the most exciting topic, yet it could be the most important to you and your company, especially in the accounts recovery profession where your clients are trusting you to recover their money.  There are 3 ways to approach pre-employment screening; in house, contact a employment agency, or outsource to a licensed private investigator who specializes in pre-employment screening.  In my opinion, the private investigator is the best and safest choice.  The private investigator's agency is all so a consumer reporting agency, fully compliant with FCRA, DPPA, and ADA laws as well as additional state or local laws.  Private databases that meet legal requirements to base a hiring decision are used, and they have the expertise to search records to get all of the information you need.  The final report should contain:

  • Verification of name, date of birth, and social security number.
  •  Nationwide criminal search done on FCRA compliant site.
  • Nationwide sexual predator and offerer search
  • A search of civil records from every county the applicant  has lived.
  • DPPA approved driving record search.
  • Credit activity
  • Verification of education and professional license.
  • Results of interview with current or former employers and references.
  • Military record

With this type of detailed information on the applicant you can make an informed hiring decision and get the best possible person for your agency.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at sandy@goldshieldli.com
