Patrick Swanick, CEO of Gila Corp., will depart the debt-collection company at the end of the year and be replaced by current president Bruce Cummings.

Austin-based Gila Corp., which operates as Municipal Services Bureau and Gila Group, announced its succession plan for executive management on Tuesday.

Cummings has served as president of Gila since September 2008. In that role he has been responsible for the company's sales, marketing and business development activities as well as the Municipal Services Bureau government collections business and the Information Systems and Support organization. He was previously the company's chief marketing officer and current serves on the board.

Cummings previously worked in the technology sector and served as vice president of a publicly-traded company specializing in data center management. He has an MBA in marketing from Syracuse University and BS in nuclear engineering and physics from the University of Arizona and the State University of New York at Fredonia, respectively.

Gila Corp. was founded in 1991 and employs about 280 people.
